Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Students will be debating the January/February National Forensics League LD topic.  The topic can be found online at the NFL website (http://www.nflonline.org/StudentResources/Topics).

University School will allow students five minutes of preparation time! This is different than the NFL rule of four minutes.

LD students are permitted to use laptops in their rounds; however, they cannot access the internet through our network and may not use personal internet service devices to get access in rounds.  Anything done on the laptop must be available to the judges and competitors in the round.

Public Forum Debate

Teams in Public Forum debate will be debating the JANUARY National Forensics League Public Forum topic. The topic can be found online at the NFL website (http://www.nflonline.org/StudentResources/Topics).

We will follow all NFL rules in regards to Public Forum Debate. No laptops are permitted in Public Forum debate - not because the tournament is opposed to laptops but because of the wishes of the community, the confusion it may cause judges, and because we do not feel it would aid debaters in rounds.
