Speech events will feature 5 preliminary rounds, breaking to semifinals. Tabbing will be cumulative throughout the tournament, with the worst prelim score dropped.

B Flight: MX, DI, OI, Dec

MIXED EXTEMP

Mixed Extemp will feature questions in topic areas touching on domestic and foriegn current events and issues. The final round will feature cross-examination in accordance with NFL rules and styles. Students are responsible for the integrity and veracity of the sources they use in Extemp. Computers may be used in Extemp Prep, but no internet connections are allowed, and the tournament does not guarantee that power will be available for all students, so be sure that you have sufficient battery life to last the tournament. Students may not use the school’s internet connection or any other connection (EVDO cards, cellular access devices built into the laptops). Students caught connecting their laptops to the Internet while in the prep room AT ANY TIME will be immediately disqualified.

DUO INTERP, DRAMATIC INTERP, AND HUMOROUS INTERP will follow NFL rules and regulations for movement, standards, etc. ORAL INTERP and DECLAMATION will follow NCFL rules and regulations; however, we will allow greater flexibility in terms of movement.  We will also not have an age requirement in for Declamation.
